Meet our Team
Tara Jubanowsky, LCSW, ACSW
My passion lies in supporting children and families through life’s most challenging moments. I hold a graduate degree from Columbia University and bring extensive experience from my 15 years in hospital settings, where I provided counseling to children, siblings, and parents coping with chronic or life-threatening conditions. In my private practice, I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief. I work with children, adults, and families, offering a compassionate and collaborative approach that recognizes the complexity of life and the power of small, meaningful changes. Together, we’ll identify strengths, build resilience, and create space for reflection, healing, and personal growth, ultimately working toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Mary Wood, LCSW
Embarking on the journey of therapy can understandably be daunting. It requires significant strength to acknowledge when some challenges are too complex to manage alone. I am deeply committed to normalizing mental health care and creating a supportive environment where clients feel understood and valued.I specialize in working with both adolescents and adults, addressing a broad spectrum of concerns, including anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, relationship and family issues, and challenges with self-esteem. My therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Exposure Therapy. My aim is to ensure that each client feels genuinely heard, empathized with, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.I provide gender-affirming and LGBTQIA+ inclusive care, and I am dedicated to celebrating each milestone in my clients' paths toward greater clarity and resilience. Additionally, when appropriate, I incorporate humor as a valuable tool in the therapeutic process. It is a privilege to understand and support each individual's unique journey, offering guidance and empathy as they navigate this transformative experience.
Adam Carlson, LCSW, LCASA
My therapy style is best described as eclectic, pulling from Brief Solutions Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychoanalytical, and Narrative Therapy. I use elements from each in a seemingly freestyle manner. It suits my work with Neurodiverse folks, like myself, by allowing me to draw connections and parallels to presenting issues from seemingly unrelated tangents. This allows plenty of freedom to explore topics tangential to or unrelated to your established goals if it is what you want to focus on. I have 9+ years of experience working in the mental health field first as a substance use recovery counselor, then a qualified mental health professional, and for the last 5 years as a licensed psychotherapist. I also have 42 years of experience living in our society as someone with ADHD. I will keep an open mind, try my best not to gaslight your concerns, and ask for clarification and feedback so that we can both feel comfortable that we are working toward YOUR goals and addressing problems that you've identified. I will strive to make you feel heard, validated, and challenged in progress toward goals that you define at a pace that comfortably suits your level of motivation and available mental bandwidth.

Richard Howard, LCMHC
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Accounting from Campbell University and my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. My counseling practice combines a person-centered approach with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy. I also tend to have a direct approach to my counseling style rather than "beat around the bush." However, I demonstrate this method respectfully and professionally. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults who experience a wide range of DSM diagnoses and concerns. I always strive to make sure my clients feel comfortable and understood so that they can be provided with the most effective and beneficial therapeutic services.
Amanda Reiter, LCSW
I value a relaxed, collaborative environment and avoid a stiff clinical approach, believing that authenticity and genuineness are important when working with clients. I connect well with people whose lives feel chaotic, helping untangle what feels overwhelming and build skills that foster meaningful change. I see adolescents and adults who are navigating a range of challenges, from managing daily stress and interpersonal relationships to long-standing anxiety and life transitions. I especially enjoy working with clients with OCD (ages 17+) and am certified in exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD. My aim is to make therapy feel like a place where real conversations can happen and change feels possible.
Kendall Richardson, LCSWA
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Florida International University and a Master’s in Social Work from Tulane University. I’ve had the privilege of working in both private practice and in higher levels of care, where I gained experience leading groups, supporting clients through crises, and advocating for their needs. Before becoming a therapist, I also worked with families of children with disabilities, helping them navigate the challenges of getting the right support and resources. I’m passionate about breaking down the stigma around mental health and creating a space where people feel seen, supported, and safe to be themselves. My goal is to work together with you to build trust, explore what’s going on, and find ways to grow and heal.
